Mitch McConnell filibusters against his own bill?

On Thursday morning, Mitch McConnell, in an attempt to embarrass the Democrats and prove that they don't have enough votes to pass it, he suggested giving the power to raise the debt ceiling to the President.

Since he suggested a majority vote of the Senate to pass this new bill, Harry Reid, who initially was against the vote, went back to his members and realizing that he DID have the votes, he agreed to the vote.

McConnell, now embarrassed that he made a mistake, began filibustering against his own bill. Funny things happen.

Another funny comment was made by Reid, when he compared the Republicans to the NY Jets, saying they don't know who their quarterback is.

On Morning Joe, Friday morning, there were suggestions that perhaps both parties need to appoint new majority and minority leaders in the Senate.
