According to Tony Quinn, who writes for Fox and Hounds, "restoring the Republican Party in seems nearly impossible in California, unless they were willing to swallow some stiff medicine,
and I'm not sure they are."
Here's what Quinn says needs to be done if they can:
"Admit that Latinos detest Republicans because they fear them....want to take away their rights...so they come out in droves to defeat them."
White, older Republicans with "Immigrant Phobia" Quinn calls it. "There could be only 15 to 18 Republican Assemblymembers and 6 to 8 Senators by the end of the decade." So they haven't hit bottom yet.
"Stop letting the baby Grover Norquists lead them around by the nose." Rigid anti-tax stances, no ideas beyond "no new taxes." They are no longer relevant.
And then what many feel should be their number one issue, "Officially adopt a Libertarian platform on abortion, gay rights and social issues. They are all losers and any Republican recovery means getting them off the table."
