Dear Sierra Sentinel Editor:
I don't know if anyone is running against Sheriff Gary Kuntz this coming year, but I would vote for them.
I feel that Sheriff Kuntz not only has no respect for women's complaints to the department, but that he treats women witnesses and victims all with equal disdain.
I have a relative who had to deal with the department and with him specifically. He's real good at trying to get press, but no good at all at being fair, impartial or arresting crooks.
What I have seen written before, in fact, I believe to be true. These criminals, the male ones, are his buddies and pals. Women are garbage in his mind. We need to do something about him.
Are there any Grand Jury investigations into the Sheriff's department? A Sheriff who has no respect for women should not exist in Calaveras County.
