We have heard that Dave Haley told the CSD board of directors in October of 2013 that Castle and Cooke may "pick up their marbles and go home" per se.
Angry that he had receive a letter denying a new gate to Saddle Creek, he apparently spent some time ranting before the board that not only would Castle and Cooke abandon Calaveras County, but that they would "take action" over their continual rejections from the Planning Department.
We spoke with Brent Harrington, the interim Planning Director, who told us he has met with Mr. Haley, but that he has not received anything in writing from he or Castle and Cooke about them leaving Calaveras County. hmmmmmm.......is someone blowing smoke?
