According to CHP around 6:25 PM on Christmas Day, December 25, 2013 Robert J. Beck (66) of San Andreas was driving his Mercedes C280 north or Jenny LInd Rd just south of Hwy 26.
At this particular location, traveling north, Jenny Lind Rd. begins to curve to the left. However, Mr. Beck did not follow the curve, but continued straight.
As a result, the vehicle ran off the road onto the right shoulder dirt area, where it struck a dirt embankment.
Beck was determined to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, according to CHP and was placed under arrest at the collision scene.
Beck sustained major injuries as a result of the collision and was transported by American Legion Ambulance services to Mark Twain Hospital.
Beck was later released to the care of the hospital due to these injuries.
