UPDATE: Hwy 26 is closed at Mokelumne Hill as of 7:45 PM. It has been mentioned that there are suspects involved in starting this fire. No other details.
UPDATE: As of 7:30 PM Calfire estimates the fire is now over 950 acres. On the Calaveras side it appears to be heading for Hwy 26.
UPDATE at 7 PM: The Electra Fire is now over 300 acres. It is mostly in Amador County.
UPDATE: Fire is around 75 acres at this time. Aircraft are en route to the area.
July 4, 2022 at 3:45 PM: A grass fire has been reported on Hwy 49 just across the river at Electra Road.
Several engines are responding. Butte Mountain Road may be evacuated soon.
