Since the big fire, the state is going to chew up or masticate (everything that is 8 inches or less. They say this is to prevent more fires. I think something is wrong here. I can't think of a good reason to remove trees that size, especially if they aren't dead.

Agreed, waste of time and money; they should just burn it like the natives have done for thousands of years.
