Rim Fire Update September 4, 2013-Yosemite still burning

   As of 7:30 AM September 4, 2013 the Rim Fire total acres burned in 237,341 or 370 square miles. It is now 80% contained.

   CalFire reminds us that 94% of all wildfires are caused by the activities of HUMANS, which means they are preventable.

   According to this morning's report, the Southeast flank in Yosemite National Park is expected to remain active where unburned fuels remain between containment lines and the fire. Backfires will continue to be set.

AP Ranks NFL teams

   Our own 49ers were ranked #1 in the NFL at the start of the new season.by the Associated Press writers. This is their first ranking of the 2013-14 season.

All evacuations rescinded in Rim Fire

Thirty riderless horses stampede

  In Mexico City, mounted police were planning on patrolling a protest march when a car engine startled the horses.
