David Lorence Simpson of Railroad Flat

David Lorence Simpson was born January 21, 1941 in Alhambra to Marjorie and Lloyd Simpson. The family moved to Railroad Flat when David was about 3 years old.

He passed away on October 17, 2021.

   The hard working family

established the 7S Ranch and a saw mill on their property.

David attended Railroad Flat Elementary School and graduated from Calaveras High School in San Andreas in 1961.

After graduation, he worked for a crane company in Stockton as a parts runner and secuity night watchman. Laid off in 1986, he came home to live with his brother Russell on their family ranch in Railroad Flat.

David loved his family and friends, was independent, sometimes stubborn and had a big heart, helping other people whenever possible.

He loved baking and selling his cookies at the flea market, enjoyed kids, going to their baseball games and baking cookies for them.

David had a small garden and enjoyed growing tomatoes, green peppers and strawberries. He also enjoyed going to the post office and visiting with people.

Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday, looking forward to visiting and spending time with family and bringing his blackberry fruit salad to share at the table.

He would also share his lemon meringue pie that Loretta Wells would make for him each year. Your family will be missing you, David.

David also volunteered his help for years to the West Point Rod and Gun Club, mowing weeds and helping to clear trails.

He loved his life at the ranch because it was tranquil, feeding the deer and the turkeys and calling the deer his little babies.

David was his own unique beautiful person and will be forever in our hearts.

David was preceded in death by his parents Marjorie and Lloyd Simpson, sister Joann Simpson Wells, brother Russell Simpson and nephew Jerry Wells.

He is survived by his brother Dennis Simpson, nephew Leroy Simpson and family, nephew Greg Simpson (Kim) and family, nephew Ken Well, niece Barbara Wells Sinfield (Len and family and niece, Tiffany Simpson.

Our family would like to thank Maggie Stewart for all her help with David in the last few months. Also, we would like to thank our neighbors and friends for including David in their lives. It meant the world to him.

Please join us for a Celebration of Live on Saturday October 30, 2021 at 11 AM at the Railroad Flat Community Bible Church, followed by a potluck lunch reception at the Railroad Flat Community Hall.
