CHP report on fatal collision

    Per CHP on June 2, 2023 around 10:30 PM a 39 year old male resident of

Clinton, Missouri was driving a 2017 Dodge Caravan on Quartz Mine Road in Mountain Ranch.

   Driving at an unknown speed, he drove the vehicle off the left shoulder and down an embankment, where he struck a large pine tree.

   Then the vehicle spun in a clockwise direction and came to rest facing in a south-easterly direction. The driver sustained fatal injuries and the Calaveras County Coroner was dispatched.

   It is not known if drugs or alcohol contributed to the collision.
