UPDATE: As of 4:40 PM this fire is 500 acres and growing.
UPDATE: Parts of Murphys and Vallecito have been evacuated due to this fire. Hwy 4 is closed between Six Mile Road in Vallecito and Main Street in Murphys.
September 2, 2025 at 2:20 PM: Evacuation orders have been ordered in the vicinity of 3200 Six Mile Road in Murphys due to a fire that quickly grew to 100 acres.
Tanker have been requested to assist with this fire. The evacuation center is at Bret Harte High School in Angels Camp.
