Major collision in Jenny Lind

    August 19, 2026 at 3:35 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Jenny Lind Road and Kirby St. in Rancho Calaveras.

   Major injuries have been indicated and an ambulance is responding. 

Fire near White Pines

     August 12, 2026 at 4:15 PM:  A breakout fire by USFS was reported at around 11;30 AM this morning. 

    The smoke is surrounding Arnold. We have no other details at this time.

Good news! Gann Fire now 40% contained

    As of August 7, 2026 Calfire reports that the Gann Fire is now 40% contained at 10,374 acres.

    They credit large backfires for clearing out brush to slow the fires movement.  It came right to the edge but did not cross the narrow end of Hogan.

Solo collision off Appaloosa

    August 2, 2026 at 12:30 PM:  A solo vehicle has reportedly run off Appaloosa Road near Pinto Road and gone down the embankment outside Angels Camp.

   CHP just posted no injuries indicated in this crash,

Motorcycle Collision in Arnold

   July 30, 2026 at 1 PM:  A motorcycle collision has been reported on Lilac Drive and Alder Street in Arnold.

Arrest for Dove Fire

    July 28, 2026:  As of this morning the Dove Fire in the Jamestown area has destroyed over 200 acres. Thanks to tips from the public the suspect has been arrested.

   Jacob William Hoskins (30) of Sonora is in custody for Recklessly causing a fire. No report yet on structures that may have been lost.

Crash on Hwy 49

    July 19, 2026 at 8:30 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 49 at the 13 curves near Big Bar Road in Mokelumne Hill.

   An ambulance and two truck are responding. The roadway is blocked.

Harley vs asphalt truck

    July 15, 2026 at 12 Noon:  A Harley Davidson apparently collided with an asphalt truck on Simpson at Ridge Road in Mokelumne Hill.

July 5, 2026 at 1:30 PM:  Traffic headed home after a weekend and the 4th in the mountains are finding it backed up above Murphys on Hwy 4.
