   March 4, 2014: CHP has issued a chains required on Hwy 4 at Big Meadows on vehicles without 4 wheel drive and snow tires in Ebbetts Pass.  Use caution as roads are slick.

Injured Bear Rescued at Tahoe

should be doing instead of killing!!
A young bear weighing only 49 pounds was sedated and taken to a wildlife rescue facility at Lake Tahoe today after it was found lying in the snow with injuries.

   KCRA 3 took this photo and is running the rest of the rescue story at 6 PM, so if you love the animals as we do, you might want to tune in.

Walt Disney Co. stops Boy Scout donations

   As of 2015, the Walt Disney Co. has announced they are eliminating all donations to the Boy Scouts of America.

   The reason is due to their policy of not allowing gay leaders in the troops.

Governor Brown..."How many people can get stoned....

   During a Sunday talk show, Governor Jerry Brown was asked about California becoming a marijuana friendly state like Colorado. He talked about "potheads" in unfriendly terms.

Best part of the Oscars

While Ellen DeGeneres was funny, relaxed and completely entertaining, the best part of the evening seemed to be when a bunch of pizzas were delivered and she served the hungry stars.

   "12 Years a Slave" won best picture and everyone looked and behaved beautifully.

So now what about Calaveras County's District 3?

   After all the controversy stirred up last week, and the seeming loss of backing for one of the Supervisorial candidates in District 3, we have to wonder about the two remaining in contention.

  Will the current Supervisor win yet another re-election so she can beat Tom Tryons' 28 years in office, or will firefighter Mike Borean come on strong to challenge the incumbent? It's your call, voters!.

Mary Kate Olsen engaged?

    Rumors are flying that Mary Kate Olsen, one of the "Full House" twins may be engaged to French banker Olivier Sarkozy. They live together in New York City.

   He is 44 and two children from his first wife. She has never been married and is 27. Sarkozy is the half-brother of the former President Sarkozy of France.
