The five current Calaveras Supervisors have had a year together and have known how bad the debt situation is in the county.
So why at their Tuesday, February 25, 2014 meeting did they ask for and consider a study session for ideas on how to save money?
The "motor pool" has been touted as the number one way to save money for years, and due to department heads simply NOT being told to turn over the vehicles assigned to their departments nothing happens.
These Supervisors are behaving as if they had NO idea how bad their debt is. One member of the public even suggested they start by cutting their wages in half.
And they apparently have spent a year together and NOT been aware of the SCAM the Sheriff's Office has been pulling off for the last three years. That money caused lost jobs for other county employees. Can someone go to jail for that?
Probably not, since the ones who took the money, double-dipped, failed to repay the taxpayers, or SCAMMED us all carry GUNS!!! This county is so corrupt, it seems like there is NO HOPE for us, the taxpayers.

and you are surprised. the sheriff has lost the election and anyone associated with him will never be elected to anything either.
So the Sheriff kept money he was loaned and kept the money from the grant when it came? Isn't that illegal? Maybe there really isn't any law in Calaveras. And as usual, the taxpayer is screwed.
This Sheriff has got to go. Way too many corrupt policies, ways too many favors for criminals, bad example for deputies.
Five clowns who spent a year figuring how to get in and out of their clown car, not working on how to save money. What a joke!!
I'll tell you what. if I was a county employee taking Fridays off for four years I'd be livid at the Sheriff. This is corruption.
