Traffic collision in Escalon

  March 2, 2016 at 8 AM:  A car has run off Lone Tree Road and Henry Road in Escalon.

   CHP and an ambulance are en route to the scene. Use caution if in the area.

440+ homes being added to El Dorado Hills

   A large development called Dixon Ranch is about to be approved by the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors.

   Adding 440 + more homes to the area, it is located above Orangevale and Folsom not far from Folsom Lake.

CEO of Chesapeake Energy dies in crash

    Oil companies have been in trouble since oil prices began dropping last year.   The CEO of Chesapeake Energy McClendon yesterday was served by a Grand Jury to appear amid questions of his financial dealings.

   His car crashed and he was killed in a fiery single vehicle collision in Oklahoma City around 9 AM. There is an investigation into the crash.  Some believe it was possibly intentional.

Sea lion pups starving

   Along the coast of California over 1400 sea lion pups have been discovered malnourished and starving by rescue organizations who are frantically trying to save them.

   The result of warmer water, the mothers have to travel farther for nourishment in order to nurse their pups, and the pups are often found abandoned.

Altercation and Disturbance in Copperopolis

   On March 1, 2016 between 1:15 and 1:35 AM two residents on Poker Flat Road  called to report a disturbance and altercation at a neighboring house, including possible abuse.

   The Calaveras Sheriff's Office took a report of the incident.

  

Joanne Jeffords - Chief Nurse Exec at Mark Twain Medical Center

   Joanne Jeffords, born in Hollywood on February 26, 1955, died after an 18 month battle with kidney cancer on February 22, 2016. She was 60.

Marriage licenses in Calaveras in February 2016

  The following marriage licenses have been recently issued in Calaveras County:

Black pickup crashes in ditch in Linden

   March 1, 2016 at 12 Noon:  A black pickup is reportedly in a ditch off Copperopolis Road and Jack Tone Road in Linden.

   CHP indicates a witness said the truck was all over the road prior to the crash. It is possible the driver had been drinking. An ambulance was called for minor injuries.

Neighborhood Watch by "Neighbors from HELL?" # 18

    You may have noticed the ad on TV the other day for forming "neighborhood watch" groups, which work well in many areas. But not here!

   In Calaveras County people are less than reluctant to be involved due to their neighbors being "Neighbors from HELL!" who are alcoholics, PTSD mental cases the Sheriff allows to carry a gun and dirty cops.

Burglary in Mountain Ranch

   On February 29, 2016 a resident on Michel Road in Mountain Ranch reported that they had been burglarized with items taken from the home.

   The Calaveras Sheriff took a report.

San Andreas man arrested in Ripon

   On February 29, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office arrested Wayne Eric Townsend (65) of San Andreas in Ripon.

   Townsend was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged felony Revocation of Command Supervision and for Vandalism under $400, a misdemeanor.

It's Super Tuesday for 11 states

   Today 11 states, including Texas, hold their Presidential primary elections for 2016.

   Will Trump and Clinton come out as probable nominees for November when the votes are counted tonight?
