On February 29, 2016 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office arrested Wayne Eric Townsend (65) of San Andreas in Ripon.
Townsend was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged felony Revocation of Command Supervision and for Vandalism under $400, a misdemeanor.

Why return Mr. Townsend to Calaveras county to be housed in our jail ?
Certainly he was not ordered to pay the cost of the vandalism, which consists of the breaking of a GPS monitor band worth $5.00.
Rather he was incarcerated for 100 days at the expense of tax payers of Calaveras county.
Why was he not just allowed to remain where he was, out of Calaveras county?
