Car overturned into pole on Hwy 49

   May 2, 2017 at 8:35 AM:  A grey car has reportedly overturned into a pole on Hwy 49 near Tuttletown.

   An ambulance and other emergency vehicles are en route to the scene. Avoid the area if possible.

Steven Van Jones of Mountain Ranch

   Mountain Ranch resident Steven Van Jones died Friday April 14, 2017 at the Mark Twain Hospital from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.  He was 63.

Pole snapped on Liberty Road

   May 1, 2017 at 11:30 AM:  A truck has hit the power lines and caused a pole to snap on Liberty Road at Sowles Road outside Lockeford.

   Be cautious if headed in that direction.  CHP is en route to the scene. PG&E has been notified.

Hit and Run reported near Fairgrounds

   May 1, 2017 at 11 AM:  A hit and run has been reported at Hwy 49 and Gun Club Road near the Calaveras Fairgrounds.

   CHP is responding to the scene. No injuries have been indicated.

Just try and get a COP when you need one in Calaveras County

   May 1, 2017 at 10:05 AM:  A call came into the dispatch center of a parent with a 20 year old they said was out of control in the Arnold area.  Deputies must be bored!!

   How many deputies will show up for this??  We heard at least three, as far away as Angels Camp wanting to respond.  But when you really need a cop for an urgent matter, just try and get one in this county???

        According to a CHP report, on Sunday April 30, 2017 at approximately 4:10 PM Steven B. Cosper (61) of Bakersfield was reportedly passing cars on Hwy 49

White House Correspondents Dinner too soft

   On Saturday night, the White House Correspondents Dinner was held, minus one fat elephant. The President had to go to a campaign rally with his fellow kkk supporters in Pennsylvania.

   We feel the evening was enlightening, with speakers Bob Woodward and others, who inspire journalism and investigative reporting, but way too soft on Trump. Saturday Night Live does a better job of showing him how he really is.

New BAN proposal in Calaveras County

  If the county of Calaveras is able to legally ban an agricultural product, then we have other suggestions of much more serious problems to BAN.
