Mountain Ranch resident Steven Van Jones died Friday April 14, 2017 at the Mark Twain Hospital from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was 63.
He leaves behind his son, Steven Van Jones, 2 grandsons Silas and Peyton Van Jones Roberts, brother Daryl Jones, sister Debra True, father Elbert Jones and many close friends.
Born and raised in Los Altos Hills, son of Ebert V. Jones and Billie L. Jones, then moved to Calaveras County in his late 20's after working for his father's plastering company as a hod carrier.
His passions were Indian Motorcycles (one which he built at age 13), gold mining and entertaining his many friends with his stories and adventures.
Steven was laid to rest at the Mountain Ranch Cemetery on April 28, 2017.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 20, 2017 at Mountain Ranch Park at 2 PM.
San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
