According to a CHP report, on Sunday April 30, 2017 at approximately 4:10 PM Steven B. Cosper (61) of Bakersfield was reportedly passing cars on Hwy 49 south of Red Hill Road outside Angels Camp on his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Apparently Cosper lost control of the motorcycle, left the roadway, and overturned several times, ejecting the driver.
Despite the efforts of passersby and responding emergency personnel, Mr. Cosper sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was wearing a no- DOT approved helmet at the time of the collision. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in this collision. The investigation is ongoing.
