September 7, 2025 at 12:45 AM: A fire was reported on Boards Crossing Road just east of Sierra Parkway in Dorrington.
The fire department quickly contained the fire at 1/4 acre. Water tenders were dispatched to the scene. The cause has not been indicated.
During the evacuations due to the lightning fires in Calaveras, people brought their animals with them for safety.
A big thank you goes to the people who volunteered from Friends of Calaveras Animal Services (FOCAS) for all their help taking care of the animals who needed it.

September 2, 2025 at 12:30 PM: Two more lightning caused fires have been reported in Calaveras County.
One is on Hwy 12 at Toyon in Valley Springs and one is on Hwy 4 at Redhill Road in Angels Camp. The fire departments are keeping busy today.

Be careful if on the roadway as it will be slippery.

No injuries have been indicated, but a tow truck is responding.
