In Siskiyou County, a fire that started on September 15, 2014 near Weed, had already destroyed or damaged over 100 structures and burned 345 acres by 8:45 PM that night.
Evacuation orders have been issued for Weed, Carrick and Lake Shastina. This fire is 15% contained. It is estimated that 1/4 of the town of Weed, including the lumber mill and the Catholic Church, have been destroyed.
