BOREAN Endorses CALLAWAY for District 3!!

Mike Borean, who finished third in the June primary election for Calaveras District 3 Supervisor, has endorsed front-runner Merita Callaway for re-election on November 4.

"I have always respected Merita for her accomplishments as a Calaveras County Supervisor and for the amount of time and energy she spends representing the residents of District 3," said Borean.  "I am particularly appreciative that Merita took the "high ground" during the campaign.  I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all who supported my campaign and to those who voted for me.

We are now faced with a clear choice in November.  I strongly urge all those who supported my campaign to vote for Merita."

Borean made his declaration during a September 21 fundraiser held at Brice Station
Vineyards and attended by more than 200 enthusiastic Callaway supporters.

"During the primary campaign I was very impressed with the way Mike conducted himself and the issues he presented," said Callaway.  "We saw eye to eye on almost all issues and it means a lot to me to have his support.

I look forward to taking advantage of his counsel during the next four years."

Borean is completing his career as Battalion Chief with the City of San Mateo Fire Department and has announced his retirement which will take place in December.

His family has lived in Arnold since the 1960's. He's a graduate of Bret Harte High School and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

During his firefighting career he continued to live in Calaveras County so he and his wife could raise their children in a small town environment.

If Mike Borean is endorsing Merita, she's got my vote. He ran a clean and honest campaign in the primary.

Borean is a class act. I may not agree with him on some of his views but he ran a good clean campaign and showed he did his homework and made sense logically when he spoke. He was not arrogant, pompous and full of BS. His support of an experienced, competent transparent and prepared candidate....Merita....further enhances my view of him. Kudos Mike, you live here full time and we your community thank you! Thanks also for only putting your signs up where you actually had permission!

I was supporting the mustache, but after all the facts have come out, I can't handle a liar in an elected office. Callaway will get my vote, too.

Oliveira brought this on himself. His campaigners have allowed the lowest form of threats, harassment and other dishonorable tactics to become part of him.

"Experience Counts"?
This woman has the vision of Stevie Wonder. She is so entrenched in her old, backroom, heavy handed rule of the BOS.
Old boys and girls network. Cronyism. And self righteous dedication to those who line her pocket book.
I don't live in this district, but have had the pleasure of beating this woman at her own game. Won with a 3-2 vote.
Good Luck Dist 3. Like our national elections, just pick the less of two evils.

Mike is a great guy. I wanted him to win, but if he says Callaway, I go Callaway.

Oliveira seems to be lacking basic ethics. I have noticed his signs on vacant lots, high up on trees where a yard sign could have easily been used (how many homeowners get up on a ladder to put a political sign high up?), on property with a for sale sign. It causes me to question how ethical he would be in office.
