September 15, 2014: Called the King Fire, the now 3000 acre plus fire has forced many evacuations and today the schools in the area are closed. CHP is assisting in traffic control in the fire area.
This fire started Saturday around 4:30 PM. The cause has not yet been determined. Forebay Road is closed at various locations, but allowing residents to move their belongings out of the fire area in Placerville.
