Sandhill Cranes celebrated in Lodi

   Long before the delta areas of Stockton or Lodi were settled, water birds, including the Sandhill Cranes migrated to the area to nest.

   Coming from as far away as Siberia, the Sandhill Cranes cannot nest in trees and depend on the marshlands to spend the winter and raise their young.  Lodi is crowded these days with birdwatchers and others who just want to watch the cranes.
