Council of Governments (COG) tries to end scandal! Forgot one thing!

Calaveras COG is missing a
few spokes!!
The Calaveras Council of Governments held an election for appointments to the Public positions at their December 2015 meeting in an attempt to clean up the scandal they created by pushing people around, using politics and
in general, abusing the system.

There are now 4 representatives from District 4 on the Council, two Angels City
Councilmembers, Debbie Ponte and John Gomes.

Justin Catalano had previously been appointed for District 2, but District 3 Supervisor Oliveira condemned that, screaming that only his campaign committee can take that position--Tim Meutterties from District 3.

This time, Catalano, of District 2. was again appointed and so was Tim Meutterties.

They did nothing to eliminate this scandal, however, and unfortunately they have been common for years at COG.

Due to the scandalous behavior, the SierraSentinel.com had informed them that we would not be a party to their abusive behavior towards some applicants.

The Executive Director announced that they would not be publishing the ads in the Calaveras Enterprise anymore, but would only send them to publications who "approve of the corruption."

Even Calaveras Supervisor Debbie Ponte stated that these applicants had been through enough public humiliation before the election took place.  There had even been a nasty verbal battle at the Calaveras Supervisors meeting in November.

One very important thing was missing from this COG meeting; a booster seat!

This group, in my opinion, is a prime example of out of control government. It would be refreshing if our supervisors
would put this group out to pasture.
