A few seedlings from District 3: Bridges, Election, Cannabis, General Plan

Calaveras District 3 Supervisor Merita Callaway says "As we move into this next decade, there are many challenges and changes for local government. I look forward to working
with the residents of our District on the items of importance to you."

Supervisor Callaway was elected Chair of the Board for 2020.  She looks forward to the
opportunity to help the County move forwqrd.

Callaway tells us that she has had several requests for DIP sings on the new Murphys bridge; they have been ordered and should be in place by the end of February.

The disaster that Oliveira created of the Blagen Bridge will be corrected.  The new bridge is scheduled to be completed in 2020.  There are some construction challenges, which will be addressed at a community meeting in the Springs.

Don't forget to mail in your ballot, all of which were mailed.  Postage is free. You can also drop your ballot off at the Arnold Library on Election Day if you forget to mail it.

Callaway reports that the General Plan, only 15 years late, has some controversial measures, especially for short-term vacation rentals in District 3. The public will be given an opportunity for input.

Cannabis regulation continues to be updated by the Board of Supervisors.
