Fatal collision on Hwy 12

 On December 9, 2021 around 10:55 AM an unnamed female was driving a 2005 Dodge Neon on Hwy 12 near Wards Avenue in Wallace.

   Michael Fredrickson (52) of Farmington was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado approaching

the Neon in the opposite direction.

   For unknown reasons the Neon crossed over the solid double yellow lines directly into the path of the Silverado in wet conditions.

   Fredrickson was unable to avoid the Neon and struck it head-on. The impact pushed the Neon off the road.

  The driver of the Neon did not survive the collision and the Calaveras County Coroner was called to the scene  Fredrickson was taken to San Joaquin General Hospital with moderate injuries.

  Drugs and or alcohol are not suspected in this collision.  The name of the woman is being withheld for notification of next of kin.
