Grass fires in Standard and Tuolumne

    UPDATE:  The vehicle that caused all of these fires was not located, but it is believed the fires were caused by a catalytic converter falling apart.

 UPDATE:  CHP notified that a vehicle may be dragging a chain and starting fires. Traffic control

is now in effect.

UPDATE:  Two more fires reported at Tuolumne Road and

Cherokee Road in Tuolumne.  Additional engines requested.  There is a structure fire on Morris Road. A total of four fires at this time. 

    UPDATE:  There may be four fires altogether in that area.

     June 9, 2022 at 4:50 PM:  A grass fire has been reported on Tuolumne Road at Morris Road in the Standard area.

    Several engines and aircraft are responding to the scene. The fire is approximately 1/4 acre at this time.
