According to CHP, on August 15, 2022 around 9:25 PM a male was driving a Land Rover
on Hwy 4 east of USFS 7N23 at an unknown speed.For an unknown reason, he allowed his vehicle to veer to the left, travel across the westbound lane and onto the north shoulder of Hwy 4.
The vehicle then struck a tree and caught fire with the occupant trapped inside. Unfortunately, the man sustained fatal injuries as a result of this collision.
More information will be released after identification and notification of next of kin. The use of alcohol and or drugs is unknown at this time, pending autopsy results.
