The Calaveras Sheriff is warning anyone intending to go to the Candyrock
Swimming Hole on the Stanislaus River this weekend that it is a dangerous and long journey.NO CELL SERVICE service is available. Many cannot walk back up the steep trail they easily walked down. The water is cold and people have drowned being trapped under the water.
Rescues are very difficult and may take many hours. Please think before you access the river at the Candyrock location.
