Traffic collision in San Andreas

   April 5, 2017 at 1:15 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported at Hwy 12 and Hwy 49 in San Andreas.

   No injuries have been indicated, but be extra cautious until CHP can clear the roadway.

   Right Wing Breitbart blogger Steve Bannon, with connections to the KKK, has been officially removed from the National Security Council.

   The reason publicly given is that now that Flynn is gone, he is no longer needed there. HUH???

   April 5, 2017 at 8 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported at Eagleview Road and Railroad Flat Road in Mountain Ranch.

   CHP is en route to the scene. No injuries have been indicated. Be extra cautious if in that area.

Calaveras County Fair entries due April 8

   If you are wishing to enter baked goods, flowers, etc. in the Calaveras County Fair this year, you have only a few days left to file.

    April 8, 2017 is the deadline for all entries, per a press release we received.

   According to the Calaveras Sheriff's Office a deputy responded to 345 St. Charles Street in San Andreas for a victim of a stabbing.

Assault arrest in Angels Camp

   On April  3, 2017 Calaveras Sheriff deputies arrested Jeffrey David Brunson (55) of Angels Camp at his residence on Schmauder Mine Road.

    Brunson was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Assault with a Deadly Weapon, not a Firearm and Willful Cruelty to a Child, both felonies and for Vandalisms, one a felony and one a misdemeanor.

Cruelty to animals arrest

   On March 31, 2017 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office arrested Greg John Rosato (56) of Wallace at his residence on Crystal Drive.

   Rosato was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Abuse of Animals, a felony and for Obstructing or Resisting Arrest, a misdemeanor.

Speeding, lane-darting on Hwy 99

   April 4, 2017 at 1 PM:  One witness reported that a white Toyota had been speeding and darting in and out of lanes on Hwy 99 near Mariposa Road in the Stockton area.

   An ambulance and CHP are en route to the scene.

Wells Fargo Bank "whistleblower" wins $5 million in lawsuit

   The Wells Fargo bank manager who first exposed the corruption at Wells Fargo Bank, was fired immediately for his "whistleblowing"!

   Just like in government, the person who makes a scandal public is often called the criminal by those who have been exposed.  This manager sued and won his job back, plus $5 million in restitution.

   The Calaveras Community Foundation has announced the winners of the competitive grants it hands out annually.

   From Meals on Wheels to Violins for Railroad Flat youth, a wide variety of groups will benefit from the donations this year.
