We got many questions from readers about why our Calaveras Supervisors gave the water rights to the Mokelumne River away to the Bay Area. "Wild and Scenic" W&S.
Many have said they violated their Joint Power Agreements with the wider area Water Districts by voting for this law and giving our water away to the Bay Area.
One reason was the conflict of interest in the businessman who makes his money from renting kayaks and rafts to tourists. Which Supervisor was this? Pontiff Ponte? We've NEVER seen her vote in favor of a real business before! Only to bring RELIGION into the county government!!
Altar Boy Spellman really has it in for CCWD, especially Davidson, who some say campaigned to get rid of him in the June 2014 election. He's a short-timer who only cares about Right Wing fanatics, anyway!
Then there is Callaway, who has voiced her hatred for CCWD for years now. Besides, she could not vote against her enviros anyway. She has an election run-off coming up.
Wright was the one who brought it to the Calaveras Supervisors agenda in the first place, and yes, he did run the Conservancy before he became Supervisor. He did not deny his love for and personal reasons for wanting to get re-elected by the enviros in his district.
Pastor Edsel pretended to be against it after learning more about the "Wild and Scenic" law, but most everyone knew that he could see it would pass without him.
Do these Supervisors vote for us, the taxpayers, the voters, thinking about our future need for water, or for Special Interests? Who gives them money to run? Do they lie about what the W&S really means for Calaveras?
