UPDATE at Noon: Hwy 49 is now reopened.
UPDATE at 11:25 AM: A tow truck has now been dispatched to the scene.
UPDATE: Additional CHP units have been requested,
and signs are being posted at the top of the 13 curves, warning of the collision.
UPATE: This is near the bridge on the Calaveras County side. An ambulance is en routed to the scene. Is it now known that two other vehicles are involved in this collision.
August 10, 2015 at 11 AM: A big rig is involved in a reported traffic collision on Hwy 49 near the bottom of the Mokelumne Hill grade, where the big rig hit the retaining wall.
Emergency vehicles are responding. It isn't yet known if there are injuries. Avoid the area as lanes are blocked.
