Burson area resident brings Calaveras Supervisor boardroom to tears!

A shocking Public Comment session was held at the Calaveras Board of Supervisor meeting on Tuesday, August 25, 2015.

The one that brought many in the room to tears, was a gentleman from the Burson area,
who explained that his land has become worthless due to his well going dry.  And this is right next door to the giant Camanche Reservoir.

He tried to choke back his own tears, unsuccessfully, but was able to complete his comments; finally telling the Supervisors that he was appealing his taxes, at their Tax Appeals Board, to lower his taxes to the nothing that it is now worth.

Most of the people badly affected by the drought do not come forward publicly, so it was very courageous of this one to go on TV and tell the world about the real truth regarding water.

Where is the water from his well going, along with his neighbors?  No question, that our water is being sucked dry by the billionaire corporate farmers, who don't just grow crops for us, but to ship around the world.  Their pockets are lined well.

So sad. Older folks are suffering in Calaveras county, much more than young folks, who can easily move away. Who is his Supervisor?

after I read this, I went online and watched the first part of that meeting. what I noticed most was that these BOARD members had no reaction. If there was ever an emergency, this was it, but NOT these elected wierdos.

CCWD should be helping them. At least I believe so, cause we all pay them part of our tax money, even if we don't get their water.
