Per a report from the Modesto Police Department, on Friday July 24, 2015 around 10:30 PM, officers responded to a 911 call in the 1400 block of Gary Lane, just off Hwy 108 in Modesto.
The 85-year-old woman said she had just been robbed, that she was sitting in the living room when she saw a suspect enter from the kitchen.
The suspect reportedly walked to the back of the residence briefly before leaving the home through a side door with a second suspect.
The victim began looking for her 94-year-old husband, Richard Iverson, who had walked into the kitchen prior to the suspects entering their home.
She found him lying on the ground in the breezeway outside, bleeding from the head, and called for help.
He was taken to a local hospital with a broken nose, facial fracture and skin tearing.
On Monday, August 17, 2015 Mr. Iverson died while in the hospital. His cause of death is pending autopsy results.
