DUI collision alleged in West Point

According to CHP on October 10, 2016 around 7:55 PM Frank Kincaid (62) of West Point was driving a 2011 Hyundai on Hwy 26 east of Buckshaw Lane in West Point at a stated speed of 45-50 MPH, while allegedly under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

Due to the drivers level of intoxication he drove across the eastbound lane of Hwy 26, off the roadway and into a speed limit sign.

The Hyundai then collided into a power pole and finally into a tree.  After the collision, the car came to rest on its wheels, facing in a southerly direction down the eastbound embankment against a tree.

Kincaid was arrested for 23152(a) VC- alleged Misdemeanor DUI.  Power was knocked out in the West Point area and PG&E was notified of the downed power pole.

Hwy 26 was closed while PG&E replaced the power pole. Kincaid was transported to Sutter Amador Hospital with minor injuries.
