City of Angels wants higher sales tax

The City of Angels Camp is putting Measure C on the ballot in November, to raise the sales tax .5% in substitute for what they would be getting for cannabis businesses.

They say they can generate another $400,000 which will go to street and sidewalk maintenance, fire and police services, parks, museums and to increase the City's appropriations limit for Fiscal Years
2019-2023 by the amount of tax proceeds received by the increase.

With the Dollar General and other large retail businesses now moving into Angels Camp, they will be able to generate more tax income.
