Caltrans worker causes logging truck collision

According to a CHP report on July 25, 2018 around 8:55 AM Ovid Radovan (56) of Stockton was driving a Caltrans 2015 Dodge Ram 1500  eastbound on Hwy 26 in Mokelumne Hill. He then came to a stop at the intersection of Hwy 26 and Hwy 49.

Donald Vance, Jr. (65) of Rifle, Colorado was driving a 2016 Peterbuilt logging truck on Hwy 49 at around 45 MPH.

The Caltrans driver failed to yield the right of way to the logging truck and attempted to cross over the entire Hwy 49 right in front of Vance.

The logging truck hit the right side of the Caltrans pickup and Radovan suffered minor injuries as a result. He was taken to Mark Twain Hospital for treatment.

Alcohol or drugs are not considered to be a factor in this collision.
