Governor Newsom ends death penalty

With a stroke of his Executive pen yesterday, Governor Gavin Newsom swept away death penalties
for the 700+ inmates on death row in California.

Some of those 700+ have been there for decades.  Newsom feels that the death penalty does nothing to stop crime and discriminates against those with mental problems and those people of color.

Newsom states that he will NOT oversee the putting to death of any inmate.

Do you think he will build some more new prisons? Or release those lifers to clean up Newsom ville?
