Where is Calaveras County Emergency Services???

For 5 days now, residents have been stranded, left without any way to communicate, no power; and the county bermed

them in with about 10' walls of snow.

The Ebbetts Pass Fire Department are the only ones we have seen rescuing those in distress. People have died trying to shovel snow and been left laying in their driveways for two days.

Something is wrong!  Have not seen ONE Sheriff deputy helping anyone for the entire time. The only thing we have heard from them is phone calls to move your vehicle or get towed.

On Saturday, traffic was backed up in Arnold for over a mile, putting on chains and trying to get gasoline. Stores are running out of shovels and ice melt.  WHERE IS THE COUNTY???

The issue is that the Supervisors nor the County really "care" that much about this - we're a small part of the county and all the rest of it is not having any problem whatsoever with weather. And undoubtedly their attitude is "you chose to live up here, so!"

Too bad the sherif took all the pot money instead of buying more plows. They should get him a plow for his tank.

Yes, it should have been spent on plows and crew - we're just chump change up here. All the tax revenue from all the houses that have sold up here recently has to be helping the county coffers.

The homeowners in EP pay a fortune in property taxes to this county

Not one thing will change to make things better for the next time.

Just like the fires, no one to stop them. no one to help.

Lets face it - We live in a incompetently managed county. Our pathetic Board of Supervisors is awaiting word from the state tyrannical governor before they move on anything. OES has received huge amounts of funding and what have the residents received in return in this emergency, NOTHING. Just like the $4.4 million dollars Calaveras received to help small business gap the Covid-19 lockdowns, the BOS kept all those funds for themselves the small business of Calaveras received NOTHING.

I hear they were all huddled together in a warm room at a firehouse.
