While growing marijuana is legal now, in approximately 4 weeks time already this year (2022), the Calaveras Sheriff's Office has discovered and seized over $11 million in illegal pot plants.
They were discovered in various areas of the county. Elimination of these plants actually aids the legal marijuana farmers, who often have to compete with the illegal grows.
