After pulling the vehicle over, deputies noticed an open bottle of vodka inside. Then they discovered a baggie with suspected methamphetamine inside.
Upon a search of the vehicle a loaded handgun was discovered in the center console that was found to be sstolen in Valley Springs.
Vernon Keith Moore (38) of San Andreas, who was apparently prohibited from possessing a firearm, was booked into the Calaveras County Jail.
He was alleged to have a stolen oaded firearm (felony), being prohibited from possessing a firearm (felony), having a controlled substand while armed (felony) and other offenses.
