Humane Society of the United States Praises Californians

The California State Assembly and Senate have passed SB1221 and it arrived on the Governors desk for signing this week.

The Humane Society wrote a letter thanking everyone in California who agree with them that allowing hounding of wild animals for miles until the exhausted animal climbs a tree or turns to fight for its life, is cruel and inhumane.

Unfortunately our local Board of Supervisors and Calaveras Humane Society disagreed. The Board, all five voted against the bill, and the Calaveras Humane Society did what they always do, remained silent as Callaway told them to, which means they think hounding is no problem.

Since hounding hurts the dogs, as well as the black bear and bobcat they chase, it proves that our local humane society is NOT humane at all and many have completely withdrawn their support of that organization.

We spoke with a local person who told us many who hunt bear, simply gut it and cut out the gall bladders to sell on the black market. This person knew many of them. These people don't hunt bear for food!

It is true that MAN is the most HORRID predator in the world!
