MIchel Fire Reported off Mountain Ranch Rd

  UPDATE:   September 11, 2012 at 2:50 PM  The Calaveras County Sheriff's Office issued an emergency Nixle that the fire on Michel Rd has been stopped, with no further forward progress. The fire is between 20 and 30 acres in size. 100% contained

   One structure and a deck
has been damaged in the Michel Fire. Some engines have been released. The cause is under investigation. One helicopter, 2 air tankers and 140 firefighters are battling this fire.  It is considered 20 % contained at this time.

UPDATE:  September 11, 2012 at 1:40 PM;  The Sheriff's Department just issued a notice that the fire on Michel Rd in the Old Gulch area off Mountain Ranch rd. is not requiring any evacuations at this time.

   That is a strange emergency notice, that there is not evacuations.

UPDATE: September 11, 2012 at 1:30 PM.   We see even more CalFire engines headed for Mountain Ranch Road.

  A fire has been reported off Mountain Ranch Rd. near the 5000 block of Michel Rd. in Mountain Ranch. CalFire, multi-units of engines, water tenders and aircraft have been called out to the scene.

   Additional water tenders have been called out. Vallecito Corrections Camp dispatched also are enroute. Bulldozers have been dispatched.
