Traffic Accident in San Andreas

According to the CHP, Glenn Wasson, of San Andreas, was driving his 1983 Ford eastbound on West Murray Creek Raod, just east of Pope Street in San Andreas at 3:45 PM on September 3, 2012, when he claims his vehicle suddenly began to accelerate uncontrollably.

Wassons vehicle left the south roadway edge of W. Murray Creek Rd, drove through a barbed-wire fence, traversed a dry grass field and through a second barbed-wire fence, where it hit and sheared off a large pine tree.

Following the impact with the pine tree, Wasson's Ford continued back acreoss W. Murray Creek Rd and left the north roadway edge where it drove through another barbed-wire fince and came to rest in a field north of W. Murray Creek Rd.
Following this collision, San Andreas Fire and American Legion Ambulance personnel responded to the scene and Wasson was flown to Kaiser South in Sacramento for treatment of major injuries.

The calaveras County Roads Department quickly responded to the scene and removed the large pine tree, which was blocking the eastbound lane of W. Murray Creek Rd.

The cause of this collision remains under investigation at this time
