Letter to the Editor...About Romney as President? THERE'S a Scary Thought!

To the Editor:

Apropos of Halloween, I really can't think of anything scarier than
the possibility that a climate denier who wants to keep burning coal
and oil, just so he and his friends can keep profitting as the ship
sinks, may become President....

Sincerely yours,

Mike Vandeman

What's wrong with clean coal?

There's global warming deniers and there's global warming alarmists and then there's people with common sense. Canada bought into the alarmist theory and the Kyoto Accords until they realized 3 things:
1) Global Warming is cyclical as evidenced by the Ice Age.
2) Natural occurances like volcano eruptions have more effect on global warming than all the car emissions in the world.
3) Investing in more efficient engines and cleaner fuel technology makes more sense than crippling the economy with coal & oil moratoriums.
So they dumped the Kyoto Accords and opened up the coal plants and oil wells using new cleaner technology, got their economy going including revenue for alternative energy research and development.
Now that's putting common sense ahead of narrow ideology.
