UPDATE: The pilot of the plane was identified as Russell Hackler, a veterinarian from Danville. The FAA is investigating the crash.
November 23, 2012: The pilot of a smal plane, who's name has not yet been released, was found dead after it crashed not far from Maury Rasmussen Field in San Andreas.
Indications are the pilot was the only person in the plane at the time of the crash. Cal Fire and Sheriff's Office personnel responded to the scene just before 4 PM.
An investigation is in progress. We will update this as more information becomes available.
