Columbia has its own Planning Commission

Tuolumne County has several Planning Commissions and one of them is called the Columbia area Planning Commission.

Under reports they have the Board of Supervisor Planning Committee and the Columbia State Park Citizens Advisory Committee.

On their agenda for February 21, 2013 at 7 PM at Eagle Cottage on Washington Street is a Resolution to adopt the Columbia Design Guidelines to protect and preserve the scenic resources of Columbia; maintin the rural, small-town character of Columbia; maintain community identity by promoting Gold Rush Design architecture; and establish a consistent set of criteria that allows flexibility for demonstrating compliance with the purpose of the guidelines.

Sound a lot like the Moke Hill Design Committe (know by many as the Moke Hill Nazis)?

Will Calaveras County end up like Tuolumne, with a bunch of Planning Commissions, all in their little power kingdoms?

If the Board of Supervisors lets one start, they now have to allow others. Scary?
