Greenhorn Creek Got a Special Deal on Angels Creek Water?

We recently started asking questions about water in Angels Camp; and we are not real happy with the answers.

If you are a resident in Angels Camp, you know how high your water bill is; and if you own a business, the amount they charge is astronomical, and has caused some businesses to go under.

We also found out that Greenhorn Creek Golf Course used water directly out of the creek, last year we are told 54 million gallons (or 166 acre feet).

Our illustrious City Council in 1994 approved a 99 year contract with Greenhorn Creek to use this water. They pay $300 a year for it to be pumped.

Then they pay $2500 a month, according to Michael McHatten for the use of treated water.

All this information gave us even more questions; such as, what City Council members approved a 99 year agreement for something as valuable as water.

If you wanted to start a vineyard in Angels Camp, just guess how much you would pay for water?.
