LAFCo needs a Tag Line?

On the February agenda for LAFCo (Local Agency Formation Commission) they are going to discuss adopting a tag line for the organization.

We had to ask what they mean by a "tag line".
It is a short phrase that best describes LAFCo's purpose in each county it serves.

If you think you might have a good idea of a tag line for the Calaveras LAFCo, make a comment after this article.

LAFCo is a very important government agency that most people don't understand. LAFCo decides if Angels Camp can expand their "area of influence", such as they did last year when they took in part of the Tryon ranch.

Water, sewer and other special districts must make reports to LAFCo each year regarding their problems, any expansion plans, etc. Then LAFCo suggests improvements for them.

Two Calaveras Board of Supervisors sit on LAFCo, two Angels Camp City Council members and  Special District Board members chosen each year.

LAFCo's purpose is to help make decisions about preserving land as open space or allowing development, among other things.

Your suggestions will be forwarded to LAFCo's Executive Director.
